Summer Art & Craft Camps
2026 Program
Evergreen Garden School offers a four hour Art & Craft Summer Program with flexible weekly sign ups for children between 2.5 and 7 years of age. (Siblings of current or returning families up to 9 years of age are welcome to attend with their younger siblings.)
Children may attend 3-5 days per week. You may vary the number of days your child attends from week to week. Enrollment is done on a first come, first served basis. Registration for current and incoming (2026-2027) families opens Monday, February 9th; registration for alumni and other families opens Tuesday, February 24th.
Dates
The Summer Program starts Wednesday, June 3rd and ends Thursday, September 4th.
We are closed on Juneteenth (Friday, June 19th) and the week of Fourth of July (June 29th - July 3rd).
Summer Program Rhythm
Please note that the following rhythm is for the Wallingford location. The Queen Anne location’s rhythm is identical but starts 30 minutes earlier, with the first possible drop off time being 8:30am and the latest possible pick up time being 1:30pm (for children dropped off at 9:30am).
School opens promptly at 9am.
9:00-9:45am Rolling Drop Off
Please note that children are only allowed to be enrolled at EGS for a maximum of four hours a day.
When children arrive, Guardians or Teachers will sign children in via the Brightwheel App, noting time of arrival. Guardians must pick child up no later than four hours after that time of arrival. For example, drop off at 9:15am - you may pick up no later than 1:15pm.9:00-10:30am Weekly Theme & Indoor/Outdoor Play
10:30-10:45am Tidy & Set Up for Lunch—children bring packed lunch.
10:45-11:00am Circle Time - class gathers to sing songs, recite poems, play movement games, and greet one another. Circle ends with everyone washing hands for lunch.
11:00-11:30am Lunchtime - First 15 minutes of lunch is “golden silence”, followed by story sharing, taking turns going to the bathroom, reading the book of the day, or classroom discussion. Lunch ends with a blessing to thank Earth for the food. Children then pack away lunches to go outside to play or go for a walk.
11:30-12:30pm Outdoor Play or Walk
12:30-12:50pm Storytelling & Songs - the story of the week is told for a few days then turned into a puppet show or class play, and finally it is drawn and retold as a group recall.
12:50-1:45pm Rolling Pick Up. Please remember children may only be enrolled at EGS for four hours a day.
Dropped off at 9am must pick up no later than 1pm.
Registration Process
Please email the office (office@evergreengardenschool.com) to express your interest; we will email you instructions on how to register. All necessary forms, billing, and summer communication (messaging, photo sharing) is done through Brightwheel.
Billing
Students new to EGS will be charged a summer-only registration fee of $25; this fee is one-time only (will not be charged in any subsequent years of attendance). Should you accept a place for your child to continue on in fall, there will be a further one-time only fee of $75 (the standard registration fee for the school year being $100).
Cancellations must be received three weeks prior to the scheduled date of attendance in order to receive a refund. This policy exists in order to keep our commitments to other families and staff.
Requests to switch days will be honored if possible, but may be considered as cancellations if not requested at least three weeks prior to scheduled date of attendance. If the vacated space is able to be filled the switch will not be considered a cancellation and will not incur a charge.
Weeks scheduled and paid for by the following Early Registration cut-off dates will be billed at $83 a day ($20.75 an hour).
June Weeks (6/1-6/26) Early Registration cut-off date: May 1st, 2026
July Weeks (7/6-7/31) Early Registration cut-off date: June 1st, 2026
August Weeks (8/3-9/4) Early Registration cut-off date: July 1st, 2026
Weeks scheduled after each month’s Early Registration cut-off date will be billed at $88 a day ($22 an hour).
Weeks scheduled the same week of attendance are considered drop-ins, and will be billed at $96 a day ($24 an hour) as space is available.
